We are now looking for a Head Green-keeper. The successful candidate will be suitably qualified, experienced and self motivated demonstrating a genuine commitment to providing an excellent playing arena for Club Members and visiting golfers. The main duties include:

  • The responsibility for all aspects of course management and development;
  • An ability to source, operate and maintain state of the art course maintenance equipment;
  • An ability to control expenditure and work within budgets;
  • An ability to lead, motivate and develop a small full-time team;
  • An up-to-date knowledge of H&S legislation and best practice;
  • An ability to communicate effectively with staff, Club management and Members.

Genk and surrounding area is a beautiful part of Belgium towards the Dutchborder; this is a great opportunity for an ambitious greenkeeper to gain international experience with a very fair salary rate. We have an obligation to our client to provide an individual who has a flexible attitude to work, can liaise with the line manager to prioritize work and add value to the decisions made on the general upkeep of the course. Therefore, only those who are serious about greenkeeping, considerate work ethics and are committed to move to on to mainland Europe for the whole of this period should apply.

Requirements:

  • We require a motivated, friendly person who is looking for the opportunity to work overseas this year

Job Description

Following the imminent retirement of the incumbent, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Head Greenkeeper.

Upminster Golf and Bowling Club is a premier facility within Essex with a long history and tradition dating back to its’ foundation in 1928.

Remuneration:

Offered will be a competitive salary commensurate with the experience and skills of the successful applicant.

This is a live-out position and therefore no Club accommodation is offered.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated ‘hands on’ innovator, able to demonstrate a number of years’ experience in a similar role. He/She will possess an enthusiasm to develop new skills whilst currently having a sound knowledge of modern greenkeeping practices and legislation.

Qualifications and experience should include:

  • Excellent management, motivation and communication skills
  • Working within planned financial budgets
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • PA1, 2 and 6 Spraying certificates
  • Relevant IT skills
  • CS30 and 31 chainsaw certificates
  • Knowledge of modern greenkeeping machinery
  • Promotion and implementation of all health and safety legislation relating to green keeping including machinery, chemical and waste handling
  • Knowledge of automatic irrigation systems
  • Full driving licence
  • Competent golfer with a strong knowledge and understanding of the game

The post requires an individual with an understanding of personnel management and the ability to maintain and keep all necessary records up to date and fully compliant with legislation.

The successful candidate will be an articulate communicator overseeing and leading a team of five green staff, will possess excellent team building and organisational skills and a personal desire to maintain the golf course and Bowling Green to the highest standards for members and guests.

The Head Greenkeeper will be responsible for the provision of general weekly update and monthly course condition reports and an on-going maintenance schedule in line with the annual expenditure, upkeep and improvement program.

Reporting to the Secretary Manager, the position of Head Greenkeeper is full time, permanent and based on annualised 40 hours/week with some weekend work. The Club will be looking to the successful candidate to redefine working practises in order to obtain the most efficient use of current resources.

Opportunity in Sweden for Head Green Keeper

GML Sport AB require a professional Head Greenkeeper for a newly acquired Golf Course contract at Öresunds Golfklubb in southern Sweden.

The golf course is one of the busiest and most popular clubs in the region and are situated in the popular southern region of Skane.

GML Sport is now looking to take the club to the next level and require ambitious and highly skilled individuals to both lead the predominantly English speaking Greenkeeper team and to further improve the courses. The Head greenkeeper reports directly to GML Sports regional manager but is required to liase closely with the golf club on a day to day basis.

The position may suit those looking for international experience or a step up in their Golf Course management career.

The position is full time, initially for 2 or 3 years with the opportunity of an extension at the end of the initial period.

The successful applicants will possess the following qualities:

  • An experienced man manager with clear leadership qualities.
  • An experienced turf manager with extremely high standards of workmanship.
  • Experience of golf courses with both modern and traditional construction techniques.
  • Ability to operate and maintain computerized irrigation systems

  • A formal qualification in Sportsturf Management (HNC or higher).

Seasonal Assistant Greenkeepers

We are currently looking for experienced Assistant Greenkeepers for the upcoming summer season here in Norway. The contract lengths will be between 5-7 months from April onwards.

Miklagard Golf is widely regarded as Norway’s top golf course. The location of the 18 hole course is 30 minutes north of Oslo City Centre and conveniently only a 10 minute drive from Oslo International airport (Gardermoen). Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr, the course is a 6,765 meters long and is described as a links parkland course.

In August 2017 we will be hosting a PGA Challenge Tour event.

The seasonal staff will be asked to work within a team, of which we place great responsibility on, to maintain the course to the highest possible standard at all times. We are looking for people who understand what quality and responsibility mean.

The correct candidates should have the following:

  • Experience working on a golf course ( 2 years minimum)
  • A qualification in Greenkeeping (NVQ 2/ SVQ 2 or currently in the process)
  • Experience using cutting machinery
  • Experience with course set up / Tournament preparation
  • Relevant spraying and chainsaw certificate would be to applicants advantage, but not essential

Basic on site accommodation is supplied by the golf club at a monthly fee.

Doha Golf Club is a 27 Hole Championship Course, which is situated in Qatar in the Middle East. The club is host to the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters on the European Tour and the Qatar Masters Open on the Ladies European Tour.
We are seeking a certified highly motivated person with leadership skills who will be able to communicate and work with a team made up of different Asian cultures. The person will need to have a good eye for detail as well as ability to solve turf problems.

Requiring the following minimum skills/qualities:

  • Previous demonstrated experience in a green keeping role for at least 2 years

Royal Wimbledon Golf Club is the 3rd oldest golf club in England and can trace its origins back to 1865; located close to London this private 18 hole members’ club, redesigned by Harry Colt in 1924, provides a tough test of golf over fairways lined with heather and gorse. The club are entering an exciting period following two years of planning. Royal Wimbledon Golf Club is now recruiting for an assistant greenkeeper.
