The team responsible for keeping our greens in tip-top condition and up to championship standard is seeking an Irrigation Technician / Senior Greenkeeper to lead them in maintaining, renovating and improving the course. The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage both a diverse team and the relationship with their own manager.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the maintenance and management of irrigation systems as well as admin and organisational skills and will have worked mainly at high-end golf courses and facilities with comparable standards to The Grove.

JOB TITLE: Irrigation Technician / Senior Greenkeeper
REPORTING TO: Golf Course Manager
JOB PURPOSE: To assist the Golf Course Manager and Head Greenkeeper in overseeing the management of the Golf Course, Maintenance team and the Automatic Irrigation Systems.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. To deputise for the Head Greenkeeper in his / her absence.
2. To be responsible for the allocation and monitoring of duty’s, responsibilities and workloads of the golf course team as required.
3. To be responsible for the Maintenance, repairs and operation of the entire Golf Course and Estate Grounds Irrigation System.
4. To liaise with the Golf Course Manager / Head Greenkeeper and Head Gardener to discuss, implement and monitor irrigation applications to the Golf Course, Gardens and Estate Grounds.
5. To be responsible for the efficient and effective application of all water resources and maintenance of the golf course drainage systems to ensure the highest level of turf quality and presentation
6. To keep up to date with the latest developments in Golf Course maintenance and management, Irrigation System and water management.
7. To assist with the relevant training, development and EAR’s for all team members as directed by the Golf Course Manager.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
Significant experience as a Greenkeeper.
City and Guilds / NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent
Adequate knowledge of the maintenance and management of irrigation systems
Adequate knowledge of water / turf management practices
Excellent admin and organisational skills
Basic Microsoft office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
To be able to work under your own initiative and solve problems quickly
Proven knowledge and experience in with working with modern plant and machinery
