Assistant Greenkeeper
Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club is a 36-hole private members club in Richmond, south-west London.
The JHTaylor course is currently being rebuilt with nine new holes to complete the course and compliment the nine holes that were rebuilt in 2009. The course will re-open with some fan-fare in July 2014.
The Pam Barton Course is a par-68 5634 yard course which nevertheless demands inventiveness and accuracy to build a competitive score.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
a range of essential practical greenkeeping skills
practical operational knowledge of essential greenkeeping plant and machinery
a technical awareness of at least the fundamentals of sportsturf management
the character to contribute to the continuing success of a team of 12-greenkeepers
the trustworthiness to work alone and also in small teams
be receptive to key instructions but compliment your duties with your own creativity, imagination and intuition
the application to build a career in golf course management and the determination to continue and accelerate professional development.
The position is full-time, permanent and offers a competitive salary based on a 40-hour week and a range of benefits.
Weekend and bank-holiday duties are covered on a rota and paid at overtime rates.
