Spray Technician/Greenkeeper

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Temple Golf Club to join our dedicated greenkeeping team, working to present our golf course to the highest possible standard.

Temple Golf Club, founded in 1909 by Captain G MacDonald and designed by world renowned Golf Course Architect Willie Park Jnr has an extensive history both on and off the golf course. The chalk downland course boasts wonderful drainage and year round play and the beautiful natural meadow rough coupled with highly undulating greens provides a superb platform for Temple Golf Club to play host each year to The Oppenhiemer Bowl.

The successful candidate will be required to :-

  • Exhibit a strong knowledge of Health & Safety requirements for the role of Spray Technician
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the latest amenity equipment and the ability to analyse how their performance affects playing surfaces on the golf course
  • Present effective ideas that will continue to improve the efficiency of the golf course maintenance operation
  • Keep accurate spray application records
  • Continue the IPM policy

The ideal candidate will have/be :-

  • An understanding and implementation of practical greenkeeping skills
  • PA1, PA2 and PA6 Spraying certificates
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent
  • Basic IT skills
  • Career orientated with a strong work ethic and a passion for turf maintenance
  • A knowledge and understanding of the game of golf
  • The ability to contribute to the continuing success of an increasing team
  • Trustworthiness to work alone and in both small and large teams
  • Receptive to key instructions but complement your duties with your own creativity, imagination and intuition
  • To help lead and develop trainees and seasonal greenkeepers into their role at Temple Golf Club and their career

The Spray Technician/Greenkeeper position is full-time, permanent and offers a fantastic range of benefits and a very competitive salary based on a 40-hour week with a range of benefits. The maintenance department operates summer and winter work hours pattern based on annualised hour’s scheme.
