Rye Golf Club invites candidates to apply to join the highly skilled greenkeeping team at their famous links comprising the Old Course and Jubilee Course (12 holes). Rye hosts the Presidents Putter every January and the Bernard Darwin Youth Salver in March, both events attracting a high quality field. The courses are renown for their all year round playing conditions.
With the introduction of fairway watering 4 years ago the Club has continued to invest in machinery and inputs improving the playing experience. This new opportunity offers the chance to work and progress in an exciting and changing environment.
The vacancy is for an Assistant Greenkeeper reporting to the Head Greenkeeper and Deputy Course Manager. The successful applicant is likely to be qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 2 or equivalent (expecting to progress towards level 3), PA1, PA2 & PA6 spraying certificates along with any other relevant qualifications. Interest in machinery maintenance would be a benefit with training available.
Candidates are expected to have a minimum of three years’ experience as
an Assistant Greenkeeper (links experience not essential). A good understanding
of greenkeeping practices to a high level including Health and Safety is crucial.
