Warrington Golf Club was founded in 1903 and is located on the south side of the town. Being positioned at the highest point in Warrington, it affords fine views of the local area as well as the Pennines and Welsh hills. The course will be hosting the Cheshire Matchplay Championship in May 2015.

Improvements to the course and its woodland areas have created a course that is both a challenging test of golf and an enjoyable experience for members and visitors. The course measures 6,211 yards, par 71 for men and 5,700 yards, par 73 for ladies. The superb drainage makes play possible for 52 weeks of the year.
