Acting on behalf of my client who is looking to recruit an ambitious Head Greenkeeper to grow in a new golf course in North West London. Chiltern Hills Golf Course has been under construction for 3 years and so far 9 holes have been shaped and seeded. Putting greens are starting to go in and will be built to full USGA guidelines with Creeping Bent grass sown. Fairways are being sown with Dwarf Rye grass, with fescue wild roughs. In the upcoming season we are looking to build further greens and tees and install the main framework of an irrigation system complete with holding reservoir.
The main focus will be to maintain the golf course to the highest standards and project-manage the construction of future playing surfaces. You will be working under the guidance of our agronomist Greg Evans MG and this role ideally suits a fully qualified Greenkeeper looking for their first Head Greenkeepers’ role. Part of the role will be to build up the greenkeeping team over the coming years along with the machinery inventory. A greenkeeping compound is already in place.
To be considered for the role the applicant should have the following attributes:
- NVQ Level 3 in Greenkeeping or equivalent (essential)
- Current UK driving license (essential)
- PA1, 2 and 6a spraying certificates (essential)
- Irrigation experience including repair and maintenance (desirable)
- NPTC Chainsaw license (desirable)
- Good working knowledge of fine turf machinery (desirable)
- Construction experience (desirable)
