An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Green keeper at The Bishopbriggs Golf Club in the heart of Bishopbriggs town centre to join our dedicated green keeping team, working to present the golf course to the highest possible standard.

Bishopbriggs Golf Club is perhaps the best in the area; our course is a traditional parkland style with thoughtful design, beautifully landscaped and maintained, to provide the perfect balance of beauty and challenge. Our unique feature is a largely flat course with no tricks or blind shots; the course presents itself to you on each tee and encourages you to play your best.

Our custom built practice area, including all weather covered bays and mats as well as grass bays and short game areas, is second to none and is one of the benefits we offer which is hard to match.

Reporting to the Course Manager the ideal candidate will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 2/3 years in a green keeping role.
  • To operate competently and demonstrate an understanding of the latest green keeping equipment and analyse how their performance affects playing surfaces on the golf course.
  • An understanding and implementation of practical green keeping skills.
  • Minimum NVQ 2 or equivalent & PA1 & PA6 spraying certificates.
  • First aid and chainsaw certificates are also desirable but not essential.
  • A strong work ethic and enthusiasm to be part of a team.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the game of golf and how the work of the green staff impacts upon the golfer.
  • Trustworthiness to work alone and in both small and large teams.
  • Receptive to key instructions but complement your duties with your own creativity, imagination and intuition.

The Assistant Greenkeeper position is full-time, permanent based on a 39 hour week with weekend working on a rota basis.

Salary and benefits package will be offered commensurate with qualifications, experience and suitability.

Previous applicants need not apply.

Applicants are requested to apply via e-mail with an introduction letter and CV not later than the 11th November 2016, outlining your suitability for the role to:
