Weald of Kent is a vibrant and busy commercial 18 golf course and 35 room hotel with a thriving membership and is also popular with societies, golfing breaks and visitors.
Since opening in 1991 the par 70, 6,310-yard course has matured into an interesting parkland retreat with a growing reputation for fast, true greens. With a variety of manmade and natural lakes and hazards the Weald of Kent is a challenge to golfers of all abilities.
We are seeking an ambitious, highly motivated and experienced Head Greenkeeper to manage and develop the golf course together with a team of 3 other greenkeepers.
This position is ideally suited to an experienced Head Greenkeeper with relevant qualifications, although applications would be considered from individuals who think they have the experience and motivation to step up into the role from a deputy position.
Weald of Kent seeks someone who can offer the following skills and experience:
- A hands on manager who can motivate their team
- Five years’ golf course experience with at least two years at a senior level
- Qualified to NVQ 3 or equivalent
- Spraying certificates PA1, 2 & 6
- Detailed knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Understanding of ecological management
- Computer literate
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to plan work schedules effectively.
- Experience in managing costs within agreed budgets.
- A keen eye for detail with a desire to exceed golfer’s expectations.
- Experience of the maintenance of machinery and irrigation systems.
We are offering a competitive salary from £27k pa, as well as a live in option with onsite 1 bedroom studio flat.
