We have an exciting opportunity to join our small greenkeeping team at Sandown Park Golf Centre. Situated in the heart of Sandown Park Racecourse in Esher, Surrey. We have three 9 holes courses, grass practice tee and a 36 bay covered driving range to look after. The successful candidate would carry out routine golf course maintenance tasks as directed by the Head Greenkeeper, in accordance with the Club’s Golf Course Maintenance Policy, its Health and Safety Policy and the Greenkeepers Code of Conduct.
We're looking for a full time Assistant Greenkeeper. Typical working week 40 hrs Monday - Friday. This is an outdoor and physical job the successful applicant should be prepared to work in all weathers. The applicant must hold a full and clean UK driving license. Previous experience of using and operating grass cutting machinery would be useful but is not necessary. The ideal candidate would have an eye for detail and course presentation and would have had previous greenkeeping experience and be qualified to NVQ L2.
Some of the Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Cut tees, greens, surrounds, fairways, rough and semi rough.
- Set up the golf course, including changing holes, moving tee markers, indicating OOB, Drop zones and hazards.
- Switch and brush greens
- Apply top dressing and fertilizer
- Identify and control pests and diseases
- Renovate worn and damaged turf
