We are looking for a qualified, enthusiastic person to take on the role of Assistant Head Greenkeeper at The Machrihanish Golf Club. Ranked inside the top 50 courses The Machrihanish Golf Course also boasts the most famous opening hole in golf with players hitting over the Atlantic Ocean to the first fairway. The course is an undulating links style, running along the shoreside of Machrihanish Bay and initially was designed in 1876 before being extended by Old Tom Morris in 1879.
The club has a team of 6 greenkeeping staff and as the Assistant Head Greenkeeper you will be responsible for supporting the Head Greenkeeper with the upkeep and maintenance of the course and deputising in his absence. The role will include undertaking all necessary cultural requirements for the maintenance of the course using modern and traditional techniques, maintenance of equipment and the maintaining of all records of works operations carried out.
You must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Greenkeeper and hold relevant qualifications, such as an HNC in Golf Course Management or SVQ level 3 or equivalent.
Salary negotiable depending on experience.
