STRI Sports Turf Agronomist

Based in Home Counties

STRI is the largest independent sports turf consultancy in the world and is rapidly expanding its resources, research facilities and services to meet the demands of our clients within the sports and amenity sector.

This is a unique opportunity to join STRI, who provide advice to more than 2,000 golf and sports facilities across the globe each year. Our services are delivered to an extensive client base across all sports, and to sport governing bodies including UEFA, FIFA, The R&A, LTA and FEI.

We are looking for a talented individual, based in the Home Counties, to join us to help develop new and existing relationships with clients and provide high quality advice and tailored solutions for each sports facility. To supplement the advisory service you will also be required to provide presentations and seminars, and written articles for STRI and trade publications. The role may require some overnight stays and international travel.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will be flexible and focused, with a genuine interest in sport/s and have the
following skills and experience:

  • BSc (Hons) degree in plant or soil related science
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills – both oral and written
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Effective planning and time management skills
  • Knowledge of and interest in sports turf operations
  • General administrative and computing skills
