JOB ROLE: Vocational Work Based Tutor
LINE MANAGED BY: Operational Manager
REPORTING TO: Director of Operations
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: To instruct, assess and carry out other pedagogic activities which
contribute towards high quality, effective and relevant learning
experiences that are appropriate to the needs of Individual students.
SALARY: £21,000 up to £24,000 depending on experience and caseload
(Home based with Company Car, Fuelcard and Westfield Contributory health
scheme) other benefits include mobile phone, laptop, dongle, mobile
printer. 28 days holiday plus bank holidays
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: (may include)
1. Provide learning support for students across a wide geographical area which will include overnight
stays
2. Deliver and assess relevant vocational courses in the workplace including preparation of lesson plans
and learning materials.
3. Follow Slic “your time your place” motto and be prepared to travel
4. Generate and maintain a minimum caseload of 40 learners.
5. Establishing contacts and appropriate networking on work sites with relevant staff
6. Supporting learners with additional learning support.
7. Ensuring timely completion of learners.
8. Engaging with learners as required by funding and contract.
9. Completing all paperwork as required by contract, including attendance registers, progress reviews, ALS records, ILP’s.
10. Contributing to the effectiveness of teams.
11. Participating in personal professional development following appraisal of individual needs.
12. Meeting agreed targets.
13. Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Chief Executive.
14.Attend staff meetings and contract meetings as appropriate.
15.Promote and Monitor Health and safety including safeguarding in all aspects of the role and
record health and safety issues that may arise

Level 2 Vocational Qualification
Driving Licence
Assessor qualification
Teaching qualification
Experience Experience of working in their
chosen vocational area
Previous experience of
teaching/instructing
