The Scandinavian is an exclusive, privately owned golf club, which offers a golf experience out of the ordinary. The two 18-hole golf courses have been established in respect for the original landscape and the existing flora and fauna.
The Scandinavian is seeking a professional, dedicated, ambitious Deputy Course Manager, with an extrovert personality, strong leadership skills, who never compromises on quality. The Deputy Course Manager will report directly to the Course Manager, Russell Andrew Anderson.
The Deputy Course Manager will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Course Manager in the preparation and presentation of the golf courses and practice facilities to the agreed high standards, respecting the environmental regulations and policies.
- Assisting the Course Manager in managing and motivating the greenkeeping staff.
- Assisting with natural area management of the adjacent areas, according to agreed standards.
- Liaising with the Course Mechanic to ensure the maintenance and safety of the equipment.
- Deputising for the Course Manager in his absence.
Professional profile
We expect the candidate to have the following professional profile:
- Minimum a fully qualified greenkeeper. Alternatively, it is a requirement that the candidate can prove excellent results from similar roles / facilities.
- Minimum 5-6 years greenkeeping experience, preferably in a senior role.
- Operational experience of growth and soil conditions in a climate similar to Denmark.
- Experience of maintenance of creeping bent grass is a definite advantage.
- Knowledge of the management of recreational areas, including forestry, is a definite advantage.
- Minimum 2 years management experience.
The courses
The golf courses set a high standard in relation to natural area management and sustainable development. The two golf courses, Old Course and New Course, were designed by Robert Trent Jones II. Old Course opened for play in 2010, and New Course opened for play in 2011.
