The Management Committee of Banchory seeks to employ an experienced Course Manager, to continue in the development of our picturesque golf course. The successful applicant must have the necessary experience, qualities, and qualifications to maintain and develop the standards required and achieved at this members club. Applicants must have high standards of workmanship, leadership, communication, financial and managerial skills. The ideal candidate will be a golfer in their own right and have a high level of passion in their work in creating and maintaining a high standard conditioned golf course.
As a highly experienced Course Professional you will:
- Have a minimum of 5 years management experience and hold a suitable qualification in turf management. A minimum NVQ 3 is required but NVQ 4 or additional qualifications such as a degree will be viewed positively.
- Must have strong leadership qualities and motivate an experienced team of greenkeepers ensuring staff performance and training requirements are managed.
- To implement the high quality presentation and playing standards of the golf course in accordance with the agreed Course Policy Document.
- Hold appropriate practical certification, e.g. spraying etc, to be able to carry out all tasks at a high level following sound agronomic practise.
- Manage all resources taking over budget outlines and financial controls of course related materials.
- Be responsible for all machinery management including maintenance and procurement within policy guidelines.
- Have sufficient knowledge to operate and control current irrigation system.
- Be IT literate to produce monthly reports on the general state of the course.
- Produce, promote and maintain Health & Safety policies and ensure compliance with appropriate legislation as part of the Management Team, as well as produce relevant up-to date risk assessments for all course related matters.
- Be capable of effective communication with all relevant stakeholders within the Golf Club.
- By embracing our in place procedures, engage with the membership regarding course matters.
- Have excellent attention to detail and be able to present a first class course.
Reporting to the Greens Convenor directly and then the Management Committee, you will become a vital part of the management team that will help to take the Club forward over the coming years.
