Knebworth Golf Club are looking for a Lead Green Keeper to join their team, we are a Club that is committed to training and progression and the development of our course. Team work is essential along with good communication skills.
Job purpose
The individual is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the golf course in accordance with club policies and under the direction of the Team Leader.
Duties and responsibilities
- Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security of the work areas
- Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self, team and others
- Carry out risk assessments
- Respond to accident and emergencies
- Hold team meetings
- Communicating information to staff, management and golfers
- Briefing teams
- Allocating work and supervising the green keeping team
- Training staff
- Develop their own skills and manage their time
Key accountabilities
- Survey, collect and record data on the golf course environment
- Report on the condition of the golf course
- Promote good environmental practice
- Supervising construction/renovation projects
- Estimating resource requirements and programe work
- Supervising turf maintenance
- Supervising the preparation of machinery
- Supervising the maintenance of the machines
- Operate and maintain irrigation systems
- Maintain drainage systems
- Planning and managing the control of pests, weeds and disease
- Prepare, establish and maintain grass swards
- Measuring green speed and interpreting the results
- The rules of golf relating to golf course maintenance
- Preparing ground to establish plants on the golf course
- Dealing with disagreements/conflict
- Keeping management informed
- Understanding their roles and responsibilities
- To apply the landscape programme as directed.
Qualifications
- Chainsaw licence
- NVQ Levels 2 & 3
- Spraying licence
