Job Purpose:
William Wroe Golf Course is an 18 hole, par64, 4368 yard public golf course situated in Flixton, Manchester, which is managed by Trafford Community Leisure Trust.
As part of the Management Team you will have a pivotal role ensuring the Leisure Management Section achieves the Trust’s Vision 2020. You will provide direct line management to the Green Keeping team ensuring that they have clearly identified objectives (tasks and behaviours) through the Trust’s Personal Delivery Commitment process and the delivery of the First Class Programme.
You will be responsible for the overall day-to-day preparation of the golf course in all aspects of grounds maintenance, health and safety and customer care, to ensure that the golf course is maintained to the highest possible standard. You will be expected to contribute to the development of the service and motivate a team that can deliver a vibrant, exciting and challenging programme for golf that meets the Business and Social Objectives of the Trust and exceeds the expectations of our customers.
Working under the direction of the Golf Manager and as part of the existing Management Team you will be expected to work Weekends and including some Bank Holidays.
The Person:
Ideally you will have at least 5 years minimum previous experience of Golf Course Grounds Maintenance and have held an equivalent position in managing at team of Green Keeping staff. You will need to have NVQ Level 3 in Sports Turf Management, PA1/2, & 6a Spraying Certificates, be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of turf machinery, maintenance and current Health & Safety practices, regulations and legislation when working within the Trust’s procedures and operations. With excellent communication skills you will have experience of adhering to quality systems and have the ability to meet and exceed performance targets and initiatives as specified by the Golf Manager.
